SORE THROAT
Sore throats are usually
caused by an infection. In most cases these are
due to viruses against which antibiotics will be
of little help. The condition will usually get
better by itself and it will last for two to
three days. The symptoms consist of pain and
difficulty in swallowing and there is often a
mild fever. Treatment should be aimed at coping
with the symptoms and is similar to that for
tonsillitis.
